Why Are Apple Seeds Harmful for Pets?

Apple seeds contain amygdalin that breaks down into hydrogen cyanide, poisoning blood and tissues with gasping breaths, seizures, dilated pupils, weakness, rapid heart rate, and organ failure even from moderate handfuls. Flesh and core safe if fully cored/seeded. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles affected variably by quantity. Close monitoring post-exposure; cyanide kits and supportive care at vet prevent fatality from accumulation.
